We’ve all heard it by now: “AI is taking your job!” And honestly, hasn’t it already started?
Think about it:
You open Pinterest for outfit inspo.
You scroll Instagram Reels for what’s trending.
The content that appears? It’s because of you.
AI quietly watches your digital behaviour. What are you clicking on? What are you saving? What are you liking? All of it.

But here’s the deeper shift:
AI isn’t just suggesting what you should wear, it is simply shaping what is being made in the first place. Brands now use AI to forecast trends, optimise designs, and even develop patterns based on the data available over the web. It helps them predict demand more accurately, which means fewer unsold clothes, less landfill waste, and smarter, more sustainable collections.

But wait, does this mean fashion becomes less human? Surprisingly, no. If anything, we believe it is becoming more human-centric. AI allows brands to listen better, to understand what people actually want, in real time, across regions and cultures.
That said, let’s ask the uncomfortable question:
Can AI truly replace a designer?
Sure, it can generate 100 moodboard options in seconds. Sure, it can simulate how a dress moves in a 3D space. But when it comes to the feel of fabric, the choice of stitch, the drape of a silhouette, that’s still very human.

AI will give you ideas, but can it execute them? Not yet. It won’t walk into your studio, cut the fabric, and sit at a sewing machine.
And maybe that’s the sweet spot. AI can be an assistant, but never a replacement.
